What is Ons API?
Ons API is an iniative of Nedap Healthcare.
Wat can you do with Ons API?
With Ons API, an external system can make calls via an API structure. It is developed to retrieve data and place it in care organization systems. This allows for the possibility of creating a link between a Nedap Healthcare environment and an external system.
Why do we make Ons API available?
We have developed this capability because it aligns with the reason why we do what we do: to assist care organizations with the execution of care processes. Part of the process takes place outside Nedap applications and thus our sphere of influence. However, we can provide an opening to make data available via APIs. By offering this possibility, external suppliers can develop connections that contribute to this higher purpose.
Who can use Ons API?
Ons API is designed for external parties / external software suppliers who always work on behalf of at least one care organization. Because we strive for quality in healthcare, commitment from a care organization is always required to be effective, and therefore we make this a requirement. We see two variants in this: both custom solutions for one or a few care organizations, as well as integrations that are suitable for use by multiple care organizations. During development, there is no need to make a choice; it is possible to scale the connection and offer it to other care organizations over time.
What support do we provide?
In addition to providing the so-called interface, our activities include, among other things:

Evaluation of intakes and integration requests
Are you an existing or new supplier and do you want to develop a new integration? Then there are a number of steps you need to go through and that we evaluate based on a number of criteria. -
Practical matters during development
We provide a number of things you need for development, such as accounts for the Ons API Dashboard. -
Assistance with bugs and disruptions on Nedap’s side
Are there bugs or disruptions on our side? Our care organizations and/or suppliers cannot do anything about this. Our support department provides assistance to manage the situation. -
Information provision
We share important information via email with suppliers so that no one is caught by surprise. -
Intensive collaboration with our Integration Partners
We have a network of specialized integration partners who can assist suppliers with the (further) development of the integration. Since each use case is specific, Nedap itself does not provide support during the development or elaboration of use cases. Our integration partners have a business model specifically designed for this purpose and can provide suppliers with the best advice.
